Project start: 2017
Partner: Olympios Trading S.A.
Project cornerstones:
- iSAtech Control Units to supply water tankers for the irrigation sector
- Seven locations for water taps in Greece
- Configuration: prepaid cards
- Energy supply: solar/battery
- Dispensing systems with bistable diaphragm valves DN25 to DN50 and motorized butterfly valves
This project was set up to reduce the water problems of local farmers in the Volos region of Greece while ensuring payment for this scarce resource.
Farmers use tankers to collect water from suitable taps and deliver it to their fields.
A total of seven locations have been equipped, six of them in Volos. The farmers have to register with the public water supplier to receive a transponder card, which they can then use to draw water from their local water tap.
As the locations do not have a regular power supply, the prepaid water taps are powered by batteries. An installation with a solar cell ensures continuous, uninterrupted operation.
