iSAtech iSAbox Irrigation system Smart Prepaid Irrigation System
The iSAtech iSAbox Irrigation system combines the iSAtech Omni Control Node with a Bermad valve/water meter into a compact, robust prepaid irrigation system with multi-tenant billing and consumption monitoring. Water supply is enabled after a water credit has been loaded — via NFC card, smartphone, manually by push button, or online via the iSAtech PayU-Cloud. Withdrawal volumes and time windows can be dynamically restricted. The system provides transparency, control, and efficiency for irrigation communities, water utilities, and agricultural businesses.
The iSAtech iSAbox Irrigation is designed for outdoor use and can operate autonomously on battery power. The control unit is mounted directly on the Bermad valve and meter, forming a compact, ready-to-use unit. The integrated antenna enables wireless connectivity via LTE or LoRaWAN without any additional hardware. Once connected via LTE or LoRaWAN, all consumption and credit data is transmitted to the iSAtech PayU-Cloud for analysis and billing.
How It Works

The water credit can be provided in several ways: via NFC card or smartphone — even offline without an internet connection — or directly online via the iSAtech PayU-Cloud.

When the user holds the NFC card or smartphone up to the iSAtech iSAbox Irrigation, the Bermad valve opens and water flows. The amount of water dispensed is deducted from the balance. Once the credit is exhausted, the valve closes automatically.

A simple NFC-enabled Android smartphone is sufficient to top up the NFC card.

In online mode, all information is synchronised in real time with the iSAtech PayU-Cloud. Consumption and credit balance can be viewed at any time by the utility and the user.

Budgets can be provided automatically on an annual, monthly, or daily basis. Once the credit is used up, the supply can be interrupted immediately or after a warning.

Alternatively, the required water volume can be entered directly on site using the push buttons. The system supplies exactly that quantity and then automatically closes the valve. Configured limits and budgets are monitored throughout, and the entire dispensing event is logged online.

Water Credit — Budgets and Prepaid

The water utility or irrigation association has full flexibility in determining how users purchase their water quotas and what volumes may be used at specific locations within configurable time slots. Quotas can be set up as prepaid or billed afterward. Thanks to direct integration with payment systems or banks, payment processes can be fully automated.

Time-based and location-based dispensing limits protect water infrastructure and provide users with a defined water quantity to manage their irrigation freely.

Once the credit is exhausted, the supply can be interrupted immediately or after a warning. The interruption can also be triggered remotely and manually by the operator.

Operation — Online and Offline

In offline mode, all credit information is stored directly on the NFC card or smartphone — ideal for sites with poor network coverage.

In online mode, the connection to the iSAtech PayU-Cloud enables additional functions: dynamic dispensing limits, automatic budget provisioning, and full remote control. All data is logged and synchronized without loss, even after a connection interruption.

Flexible with Extensive Interfaces
The iSAtech iSAbox Irrigation can be combined with a wide range of valves, meters, sensors, and actuators. Thanks to its extensive interfaces for motor control, pulse input/output, Modbus, USB, and NFC, it can also connect to controllable pressure reducers and pumps, monitor external solar charge controllers, or regulate local access.
Various extension options are available, such as automated billing and invoicing or demand-driven irrigation. External solar charge controllers can be monitored and local access can be regulated.
